We used to be limited by shelf space at Blockbuster. Not. Any. More. More movies for all!

Today it’s impossible for one person to make their own Hollywood Blockbuster-quality indie film. Ask my brother, he’s tried (keep an eye out for our trailer “Awake” dropping soon).

We have combined the best of Hollywood and Silicon Valley, in one app. An app that helps you write your script, think of amazing characters, drive unique and original plot twists, and more.

We call it: CyberFilm

How did we do this? Our team co-founders include a 15 year Product Manager (Microsoft, Samsung, Viv Labs, JPMorgan) and a 15 year producer / director / screenwriter, who has worked on shows like Suits and The Boys, and founded a production company which publishes original novels and short films.

So what is it, and why is it new?

You can find details on our new website linked below. To our fans: we have to glow up and retire our first emoji 🤖🎥 and we’re proud to preview our new logo:

Andrew and I started this company to help people like him make their own movies.

We have always used the latest technology available. When we were kids, our dad got a video camcorder, powered by the latest in VHS tape technology. It was the 1990s, and we were inspired by the filmmakers of the day (such as James Cameron and Steven Spielberg).

I wondered at the power of filming in my room, then popping the tape right in the family VCR and watching on “the big screen”. This was back when phones were hung on the wall, and even the best cameras would require days before you saw your photographs printed.

We would do stop-motion films with our toys and clay figurines, in between watching our favorite movies for hours like Ghostbusters and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. Loved that flick. Bought a turtle and named him Mikey after my favorite Michelangelo. True story.

Now we want to bring the power of AI to you: the filmmakers of 2023 and beyond.

The next generation of storytellers.

Most screenwriters, directors, or film creators have a few ideas they’ve tumbled around in their head for sometimes years. Type the idea in to our app. Get it out of your head and on the page. As you work down the form, our helpful AI will suggest characters, plot points, even draw storyboards to your desired shot type and angle. Sometimes it’s easier to critique an existing suggestion for perfection, than to add new perfection to a blank page. Let AI do that for you with a few warm-up ideas you can think over. No writing credit required, you don’t even have to tell anyone it helped. This is your movie.

There’s one more thing — we’re not only for text, we also help draw storyboards. Key to how you express emotion through the written story in your film.

Here’s a real storyboard image we made, through the power of OpenAI’s GPT API with DALL-E image generation powering the CyberFilm app:

Storyboarding made easy

Generative AI will change the world in the coming decades. We want to be the first to use it to help artists make movies. It starts with text scripts and storyboard sketches, but with the latest in mobile phone cameras, anyone can film and share a video online.

It’s only a matter of time before the next great Hollywood Director could get discovered today on YouTube or TikTok, a modern parallel of how George Lucas got discovered at USC with a short film premiere and a captivated audience that went viral (in newspapers at the time).

The audience of the future is on trend to watch hours of online video a day, we’d just like to show them some movies with purpose. Dances and stunts — we love them. But I truly believe in the power of cinema. Make your friends and family watch The Shawshank Redemption and Truman Show, and, and so many amazing movies we love and, yes we adore 90’s movies — it was our golden era. Catch me at Blockbuster every Friday as a teen (or the Canadian version Rogers Video).

Why Us

We’re going to be the first Artist Friendly AI company. We want you to own and keep your movie, and our vision is to never lose, misuse, or abuse your data. We use the OpenAI API which gives you full ownership over the images and text you create while in our app, just like Microsoft Word or Google Docs.

We promise to always let you export your work, as PDF or other doc and movie script file types, and never to lock your data into our platform. Your movie is yours: we never can and never will claim any ownership over work YOU create in our app.

Sure, ChatGPT is great… but have you tried making a real movie script using it? Let me know how that goes. It’s hard. Too hard. It’s easy with CyberFilm AI, so give us a try. Tell your story. Come with us on this journey, and Bring Your Story To Life with CyberFilm.
